WHO ARE THE UNITED METHODIST WOMEN (UMW) OF BULVERDE?

“The United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ. To develop a creative supportive fellowship and to expand the concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.”

DAYTIME MEETINGS AT BULVERDE UMC

Those available during the week, meet on the second Thursday of each month, in the UMW room of the Fellowship Hall. We begin at 11:30 with a Brown bag lunch followed by a program, presented by a unit member, from 12:00 to 1:30. These programs allow us to meet our Mission Today, Charter Club, and 5-Star requirements for the District and Conference.

This group is a hands-on mission group as well as the core group of UMW for our local organization. We have created birthday craft boxes for the children at Wesley Community Center, served as organizers of the Wesley Rummage Sale, provided food tray flower arrangements for the residents of Autumn Winds nursing home, prepared, delivered and served lunch for the Campus Ministry organization at San Antonio College, hosted an annual Rummage Sale at Bulverde United Methodist Church, and have provided book bags for the UMCOR Depot in Baldwin, LA.  We also cook Soul Food twice a year to earn money toward providing scholarships for Education opportunities within the greater UMW organization.
